• I consider this disc to be the best one that the Yardbirds produced as all of the songs are very listenable. My favorite non-single song is "Train Kept A-Rollin' ". This song should have been at least on the "B" side of a "45" but it was not. I think it was overlooked somehow. I recommend this disc to anyone looking for a great Yardbirds disc/5(30).

• Mar 26,  · These are proto-Led Zeppelin sounds, not really having anything to do with The Yardbirds as a whole. It is, after all, hardly a coincidence that when Led Zeppelin first gathered in the studio, the very first song Page proposed them to play was “Train Kept A-Rollin” and I /5().

• Because they used recycled material that had already been issued as singles in their home country, Having A Rave Up With The Yardbirds did not receive a U.K. release. It’s an interesting exercise to listen to both versions of “I’m A Man” back-to-back to get a sense of the natural predilections and style of each of the group’s two guitar players up to that point.
