  • The Wild Colonials' debut record, Fruit of Life, is an inventive pastiche of a variety of folk and pop influences. The melodies and arrangements occasionally echo 10, Maniacs; Angela McCluskey's husky vocals recall the throaty excesses of the Indigo Girls' Amy Ray. But what sets this Scottish quartet apart is the rich virtuosity of Paul Cantelon's gypsy fiddling.
  • Wild Colonials were a band based in LA during the 90s. Fronted by Angela McCluskey's distinctive voice, the band also included violinist Paul Cantelon, guitarist Shark, multi-instrumentalist Scott Roewe, and drummer Thaddeus Corea. They released two studio albums, Fruit of Life () and This Can't Be Life (), as well as a collection of soundtrack contributions and covers called Reel Life, Vol. 1 ().
  • The Wild Colonials offer an dense aural experience on "This Can't Be Life." Building around the considerable vocal talents of Angela McCluskey, the four musicians lay down a thick gumbo of rich sounds, too rich in fact at times/5(7).
